The Power of the Medium

The Internet provides a very convenient way to deliver text. It also is a fantastic way to deliver animation, movies, and audio. These allow the computer to replace newspapers and TV. However, on their own, they are nothing new.

If a typical user opens a game (double click on the scheduled game), the game details displays game location, coaches, etc. If a user logs in, and is a listed referee, the game details allows the user to request to referee a game, or decline a game assignment. If a person with Referee Administration access logs in, that same window provides a drop-down list of referees to assign to a game.

Now, most of the referee schedule themselves for the soccer games. The Administrator need only call those referees that do not use the Internet, or to ask for help with a specific, overlooked, game.
